The other exciting thing in my life is that I saw a prescreening of Rock of Ages and...I loved it. Okay, so, it's cheesy 80s music mixed with musical theater and looked like a super camp explosion (when my sister and I first saw the trailer in theaters we basically went !!!!!! at each other) so I knew I would enjoy myself. But I expected to like it in a "ha ha that's so bad" kind of way, but nope, I ACTUALLY LIKED IT. Which is not to say it's "good"...the story is pretty much as basic as it gets (I'm not familiar with the musical at all, which sounds...much different) but it's just a lot of fun. I was smiling the whole time. The only person who can't really sing at all is Paul Giamatti (and they wisely gave him like, 2 sung lines) and Tom Cruise and Russel Brand are both actually really good. Speaking of Tom Cruise: TOM CRUISE! I am being totally tricked into liking Tom Cruise again, because I have all of the affection for people who are willing to make fun of themselves/not take themselves too seriously and...okay, also, he's super hot in this. Like crazy hot. He literally does not wear a shirt the entire movie, and it's just sweat and tattoos and LACED UP LEATHER PANTS and crazy fur vests and it's just marvelous. Marveloussss.
So...yes, you should see it, if you like silliness, and 80s music, and also musicals.
...otherwise, I've been working, and that's pretty dull, so. No comment.
I wrote fic! It's post-movie Thor/Loki PWP and if you can get Ao3 to work for you, you can read it
