I guess I'm in kind of a monthly posting pattern now...for once, I've actually been busy and not too boring to post anything!

New job is still going well...I really enjoy it and I think that my goal is to go full-time there. I still love editorial work, but the magazine just doesn't give me the same feeling. My total lack of interest in the topic doesn't help, of course, but the tourism job makes me feel connected to my city. I get to be involved in the arts community! And there are definitely perks too >_> My boss actually just left a week ago, which was sad...I didn't know him long, but he was a good boss and a really cool guy. And now I have to be nervous that the new director won't like me! Fun!

Otherwise, I'm doing pretty good on a social front (shock of shocks). I'm hanging out more with K's bookstore friends. A big group of us went to bar trivia this week, and I actually hung with two of them, just us, at a really cool party on Friday. Apparently a gang of bookstore people are going to House on the Rock for a Halloween-y picnic, and we got invited to that. I saw Much Ado with K & my sister and LOVED it. Still doing bookclub. Family stuff too! I feel so busy.

Ugh, what else? I got super into Hannibal, so happy it got renewed & so sad I have to wait a year for more. WILL GRAHAM ;___; K & I are planning to go to Disney World & Wizarding World in the fall, which will be my first real inter-state trip on my own (first time on a plane without my parents!). Should be a good time.

I'm working veryyyyy slowlyyy on my BBB, gotta get my rear in gear on that. K and I also started a collaborative Harry Potter fic project, 36 Views of Hogwarts. It's been a lot of fun - if you like character-centric short fictions, check it out :)

Hope everyone is having a good start to their summer...I'm still around & reading, though crap at commenting as per usual.

sniffles suck

I've got a really drippy cold going on right now which only occurs in the mornings which is...exciting? Mostly annoying. Shmer. Works are fine...new issue of the magazine just got printed, so I'm busier than normal getting all our web content ready to go/sending out comp copies to contributors/all that good kind of stuff. Law job is nutty as usual.

I had a job interview on Friday! I think it went well? It's hard to judge, I dunno. The position is really well-suited to my experience, so that's nice. I was the last of 5 people to be interviewed. They're calling references this week and are hoping to make a decision end of this week/early next week, so...fingers crossed!

Also on Friday, I attended another Harry Potter party! One of K's workfriends throws them and...it's a lot of fun? Basically we eat food, take VERY LENGTHY quizzes about Harry Potter, drink butterbeers, and have the movie on in the background while we do a craft. This month was Prisoner of Azkaban themed and we decoupaged boxes/coasters with PoA/Marauders themed stuff. And I won the quiz!! I got a gorgeous time turner necklace (this girl really goes all out with the party planning), so I was very pleased with myself.

Saturday I watched all of Jekyll which...started out vaguely intriguing and then just got dumber and dumber as it went on. Oh, Moffat. Sunday morning I totally failed at Daylight Savings Time, but K and I made it to brunch anyway. We went to Honeypie, which is great, and I had french toast with a peach/blueberry compote, fresh whipped cream, and candied pecans. Nom. That afternoon I went to my parents' house for a spaghetti dinner and got to visit with my sister, who is home on spring break (jellyyyy).

I'm going to Madison this weekend? Apparently? One of my BFFs/former-roomies just moved down there and asked if I wanted to come up so...I'm going to! It's really weird (but awesome!) to have her actually live within weekend trip "pop by and visit" distance. And since Starkid was kind enough to decide to post AVPSY on youtube this weekend - I forsee more brunch and lots of Starkid in our future!
