Newsflash: it is still fucking cold in Wisconsin. Jeez. I know I do this every year, but how can winter be so LONG? It's like it never ends. We keep inching closer and closer to something resembling spring (or even just not being FREEZE YOUR FACE OFF cold) and then slide back into a swimming pool filled with ice cubes. Naked. Harsh, Wisco.

In other news, I went to see roller derby! It was one of the things on my list of STUFF I SHOULD DO so I was super proud of myself for pulling it together and actually doing it. It was super fun too, I'm hoping to go back (possibly with my sister) to see the March bouts. I keep forgetting how close I actually am to downtown...it's literally like 10 minutes from my door to the heart of the city, which is pretty great. I even had the parking gods smile on me and let me into a pay lot for free on derby night. I was anxious about my car being towed the whole time, but nothing bad happened! Just a free ride - thanks faulty parking kiosk! The rollergirls were beyond cool, and I want to be one so bad. I'm wayyyy too unbalance/unathletic/generally wimpy for it though; as if to remind me of this fact, I scraped my hand on the couch while sitting on it the same day I went to the bout. Obviously anything where I need to move and people are TRYING to injure me is not gonna fly. I'm content to watch and cheer.

What else? People around my age came to my door at like 7pm while I was making dinner to talk to me about AT&T. What a crappy job that would be. I still have no idea what I'll do when law job ends, but I also have no idea WHEN law job will end so that works out okay. I applied to one job that would be right up my alley and allow me to work from home (cue heavenly choir) so fingers crossed for that.

This weekend I am going to attempt to roast a chicken with homemade dressing - I have done this before, but I've never CARVED a chicken, so that should be an adventure. I intend to make stock out of the carcass and am considering attempting a leek and potato galette to go with it (as a follow-up to stuffing). I'm a mad chef!
